Zuma’s former chef Todd Erickson moves to a new, tech-savvy (we’re talking digital streaming) restaurant with small plates and innovative cocktails.
Why: The Duck Duck quail slider (ground-duck burger topped with a quail egg and foie gras butter), subzero Nitro ice cream (with fruit, nut, and candy mix-ins), and The Fever (tequila blended with pineapple, lime, sage, and acacia honey).

The Overtown Music Project’s Gospel Brunch
The nonreligious celebration brings together community icons and musicians who played during Overtown’s heyday.
Why: A feast of traditional soul food awaits you.

Shop Gitana Opens
After going mobile for a few years, Gitana finds a permanent home in Aventura.

Salsa Fiesta’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration
The downtown Mexican joint observes the holiday with live music, as well as food and drink specials.
Why: Two-for-one burritos, beers, and margaritas.
