Cavalier Opens in the Tenderloin

Fabulous finds for the home await

An Intervention

Subjects: Interior designer Jay Jeffers and his partner, Michael Purdy.

Disorder: Hoarding the finer (design) things in life.

Symptoms: Jeffers and Purdy display said treasures at Cavalier, their lofty home goods atelier opening today in the Tenderloin. Living by what they call The Cavalier Code, the pair compulsively ensures everything in-store is one of a kind and fabulous.

Treatment: Rid the duo of exclusives (Alex and Lee sculptures and baubles); impossible finds (feather-clad resin skulls from Paris); and Jeffers’s new line of furniture, lighting, and soft goods (including the coveted Kingsley sofa, named for their King Charles spaniel and store mascot). Luscious Italian cashmere throws, woven leather pillows, cheeky coffee-table books, and candles from their favorite hotels are worth stockpiling.

Let’s help them help themselves.

Cavalier, 1035 Post Street, between Polk and Larkin Streets (415-440-7300 or cavaliergoods.com). To see Jeffers’s line of Cavalier Goods, go to deringhall.com.
