You have no trouble dropping rent on fine shoes and handbags. Your wine-pairing skills are unparalleled (Barbera with bubble baths). And you’ve got riding a Vespa down pat.
But you’re kicking yourself in the boot for not going back to Italy since that semester abroad.
Fuggedaboutit at Dolce Italian restaurant, opening Friday at the Gale.
Italian-born chef Paolo Dorigato (Cipriani Wall Street, The Rainbow Room) takes you on an authentic excursion with veal spezzatino, roasted branzino, tagliatelle pasta with rock shrimp and pesto, and spaghetti al pomodoro.
The restaurant brings a neighborhood-y feel to Collins Avenue with gray finishes, tufted banquettes, and an adjacent coffee bar. Infusing a nightlife feel, speakers play ’70s soul, rock, and old-school hip-hop; an extensive wine and cocktail menu includes creative bellini flavors such as cinnamon apple.
Make the tiramisu or honey vanilla budino with caramelized pineapple and berries your nightcap.
That’s what we call una bella serata.
