The Basel Weekend Guide

Toast the town.

Drinking Room Pop-Up
What: Eating House’s Giorgio Rapicavoli transforms the ground level of Hotel Astor into a libations den.
Why: Challenge friends to a game of Twister, sip locally inspired cocktails (the Tenth & Washington is made with tequila, guanabana, jalapeno, and cilantro), nosh on indulgent small plates (carbonara croquetas stuffed with arborio rice, black truffles, bacon, and Parmigiano), and salivate over chef Janice Wong’s edible art installation.
When: Thurs.-Sun., 2 p.m.-close.
Where: 956 Washington Ave., Miami Beach.

The Download
We found fourteen ways to make the day fly.
Why: NYT Magazine’s short films, a digital Bullett, and kittens posing with hot men.
When: When the bore o’clock hour hits.
Where: At dailycandy.com.

Michy’s Miami Pop-Up and Garden Cafe
What: Michelle Bernstein, the city’s culinary darling (and Basel’s official catering partner), moves her kitchen off the mainland for two totally different dining options.
Why: Break from the chaos for an intimate, four-course meal ($135) offered twice daily at the pop-up space, or grab a quick bite at the cafe (think Crumb on Parchment) for cracked Florida stone crabs, soups, sandwiches, and salads.
When: Michy’s, Wed.-Sat., 6:30 & 9 p.m. Garden Cafe, Wed., 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Thurs.-Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: 200 Convention Center Dr., Miami Beach. Dinner reservations to 305-759-2001.

Nobe 67 Pret-a-Porter
What: A nonprofit gallery spawns the first-ever women’s wear fashion fair, where you’ll find the works of emerging designers and shop owners such as Valentina Delfino, Bib + Tuck, Casa Del Rio, and more.
Why: Gawk at wearable art and get first dibs on collections not readily available elsewhere.
When: Fri. & Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Where: Deauville Beach Resort, 6701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.

Kiwi Arts Group and Friends
What: Sixties pop art and interactive technology collide in a collective exhibition that includes work from Andy Warhol, Roy Fox Lichtenstein, and more.
Why: Peep several of Warhol’s never-before-seen drawings, try on Google Glass during David Datuna’s Viewpoint of Billions art collaboration, and see early images by Robert Indiana (the artist behind NYC’s “Love” sign).
When: Thurs.-Sun., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Where: NE 40th St., at 1st Ave.

Grey Area Yoga Mats
Bring some meaning — and creative irony — to your practice with seven artist-designed yoga mats ($90) from the likes of Daniel Arsham, Eric Cahan, Jon Kessler, and others.
Meditating on a cat in half cobra does wonders for your chakras.
When: Thurs.-Sat., noon-8 p.m.; Sun., noon- 6 p.m.
