What: Finally, the Madrid-based fashion label’s first U.S. outpost opens in the Design District.
Why: Score spring/summer ’14 favorites straight off the runway, such as billowy, tea-length dresses; voluminous skirts; and lots of florals.

Why: Short and sweaty workouts, an app that socializes your class schedule, and our very own gym playlist.

The River Seafood & Oyster Bar
What: After more than ten years in business, your favorite bivalve spot steps up its game with a la carte breakfast, lunch staples, and desserts.
Why: The smorgasbord ($90) makes group brunching easy, or choose among dishes such as mascarpone-stuffed French toast and a lobster omelet. Sip specialty cocktails like the Wake-Up Call (milk punch plus a double espresso), or add unlimited mimosas or Bloody Marys for $30.

Jacuzzi Boys and Awesome New Republic
What: A musical fete to celebrate UK artist Tracey Emin’s first American exhibition.
Why: Two homegrown bands cover their (and your) best-loved British tunes.
When: Fri., 8-11 p.m.

Homage Happy Hour
What: Decompress over retro-inspired cocktails — based on recipes harkening back to the early days of mixology — and bar bites such as crispy black cod and mini crab cakes.
Why: The list of old-timey libations changes every month; January brings a selection of champagne-based favorites, including the French 75 and a sweet elderflower spritz. Juleps come out to play in February.

Giant Gourmet Garage Sale
What: Stock up on flatware, gadgets, linens, art, and other culinary treasures at the Les Dames d’Escoffier’s bargain fundraiser.
Why: Pick up locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs to test your new toys.
When: Sat., 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
