Long Live the Party

Kudu Releases First Album

It’s exhausting being the life of the party. So many bars to hop, names to drop, feels to cop. (Cherries to pop.)

At this point, you’re ready to hang up your party hat.

But then you wouldn’t be able to introduce the late-night revelers to Kudu — a soul-stirring twosome that rocks with racy results. The band’s album, Death of the Party, comes out today, with a killer collection of thumping beats and sultry vocals.

Listen to the drum-and-bassy “Suite Life,” the acid jazz of “Magic Touch,” and the toy box trysts of “Playing House.” The cover of “Black Betty” would make Tom Jones throw his own panties onstage.

As for that primal sexual energy you feel in every song? It may be the product of the alleged liaison between front-woman Sylvia Gordon and drummer Deantoni Parks.

But believe us: Other people’s hookups will be the last thing on your mind.
