Word Up

Southern women are known for, among other things, a certain verbal appeal. (Whaz that, deah speedin’ cop? Yull let that ticket go, aftah all?)

But Pecan Pie Couture T-shirts may just take the words right out of their mouths — each hand-finished tee is adorned with phrases like “Made with Real Butter,” “Glamour Is Lethal,” and “Can’t You See My Hairnet? That Means I’m Working, Bitch.”

The unexpected twist: This season’s line is rife with references to timeless decadence and ’80s pop culture — the likes of graphic stencil, exposed stitching, and a silhouette of Marie Antoinette. Each seems  (practically) commonplace over vintage logos of butter churns and pie pans from south Georgia’s legendary Treado’s Pie Factory. And there’s nothing not to love about the long cuts of the shirts themselves.

Your people would be so proud, they might even be speechless. For once.
