Girls-only parties have run the gamut. Cut the crap (nosy Nancy + Double Rabbit Ultra 7 = bad idea anyway) and get to the real reason you show up at these things: the booze.

Toast to Girls Wine Out, the traveling party created by hospitality gurus Raquel Fleitas and Betsy Gomez.

How it works: Friend A is getting [fill in celebratory verb here]. Friend B (the hostess) calls up GWO and gives them the when, where, and package choice (cheese pairing, cheese and gourmet food pairing, or cellar selections pairing). Friends C through G (and A, of course) are invited, and party commences with hand-picked wines, cheeses, homemade hors d’oeuvres, and chocolates.

Prices start at $25 per person and include all accoutrements, plus customized GWO note-taking sheets and party-favor bags filled with goodies.

The kind you won’t have to hide in your sock drawer.
