Swap Meet

Even trade: Ho Hos for Ding Dongs with your best friend.
Free trade: Ho Hos for Ding Dongs with anyone.
Rough trade: Ho Hos for carrot sticks with the school bully.

And then there’s Rag Trade, a hidden boutique opening tomorrow on the outskirts of the Design District. A hip take on the traditional thrift store, it lets you exchange old clothes for new (old) ones.

Sure, you can still pay the traditional way (prices are scrawled on tags made from recycled club flyers), but remember the if you haven’t worn it in a year rule and fill the Hefty bags.

There are some guidelines: fuzzy balls are not allowed (read: no pilly sweaters), brand names are preferred, and extra funky is encouraged (you’d hate to take Heatherette and leave with Quicksilver).

You’ll feel good knowing you’re recycling — and not just consuming.

And you wouldn’t trade that for the world.

Grand opening, Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Rag Trade, 4600 Northeast 2nd Avenue, number 6 (305-573-1478).
