My dearest Lancey,
Miami is simply lovely this time of year. Everyone here is full of color, as if they haven’t had a plague in ages! The inn we’ve been staying in has a giant bath that overlooks the ocean, and you would like the mead halls — there are more harlots in one than in all of Camelot.
Needless to say, all those gowns the wench packed for me were simply too much. Luckily, Lady Clarinda stumbled upon Lacey Parker. Her dresses have the most delicate puff sleeves (something, as you know, any respectable lady of the court should wear) but not the torturous waist-cinching we so abhor.
So don’t be surprised when the trunk arrives with A-lines in silk, lace, and light cotton, and just maybe the baby doll in natural linen with a hint of gold, as — tell all the medieval maidens — it’s all about bubbles this season.
Speaking of, I’ve found this marvelous thing here called Veuve. (It’s French. Don’t tell anyone.)
Miss you desperately,
Gueney
