Claymate of the Year
Clayworks Pottery Classes

You’re a faithful attendee of Cycle Beats with Tina, but all that’s come of it so far is a loathing for perky women with headsets and the metabolism of a 9-year-old boy.
Clayworks Studio will put a new spin on your workout routine (concentration: forearms). The little-known ceramic gallery and studio in North Miami Beach is run by professional potter Rose Quintana, who teaches budding artists of all ages and skill levels wheel pottery, clay construction by hand, and mosaic.
Quintana will even hold private ceramics painting parties for groups of ten to fifteen, and she also makes pieces on commission — should you prefer to have the art without getting your hands dirty. Some students, however, have proven quite ambitious, using their skills to create tabletops and even remodel their kitchens.
Though you might want to start with a candy dish.
After all, you’re not trying to reinvent the wheel.
Clayworks Studio, 1696 Northeast 164th Street (305-957-9905 or clayworksmiami.com).
