You Down with OCD?

Sugarbubble Spa Opens

An average mattress is home to 100,000 to 10 million dust mites. Desktops have 400 times more bacteria than toilet seats. And the average flush sprays bacteria twenty feet.

If “cleanliness is next to godliness” is your mantra, there’s spiritual enlightenment waiting at the new Sugarbubble spa.

Owner and nurse Leni Benitez has gone to great lengths to ensure good, clean fun — from the nonwhirlpool (nonbacteria harboring) pedicure stations to the individual nail kits (sharing = cooties). Plus, all utensils are sterilized with a medical-grade autoclave; and files, brushes, buffers, and birchwood sticks are disposed of after each use.

Of course, Sugarbubble isn’t all peroxide and no pampering. The Napa pedicure, a toe treatment with wine for drinking and soaking (tartaric acid is good for piggies), and the custom organic facial (with ingredients like yogurt, papaya, and herbs) are both worth mentioning.

Which you surely will. As the only thing you don’t mind spreading is the word.

Sugarbubble, 165 Northeast 96th Street, Miami Shores (305-751-3622 or thesugarbubble.com).
