Positive Extension
Denise the Traveling Hairdresser

It’s safe to assume that Prince protege Sheila E. was not referencing getting her hair done at a salon when she sang about “The Glamorous Life.”
Case in point, the ’do drill: Waiting for highlights to take as head is transformed into foil and goo patchwork quilt. Squinting to decipher 3-month-old Glamour while praying no one semiattractive wanders in for a cut.
Oh, the hair horror. Luckily, Denise Chapman will tend to your tresses in your house. Good thing, as some services, namely extensions, can take up to five hours, and the weave wunderkind likens getting elongated locks to “putting 300 miniature ponytails in.” Fun.
Rest assured, though, that the 22-year extension-administering veteran doesn’t use “crappy hair that’s going to ball up and fall out.” Plus, Chapman also does permanent makeup and eyelash extensions, accepts plastic, and even brings movies to pass the time.
Of course, you’re just happy you don’t have to worry about rain.
