Mind, Embode, and Spirit

Embode Jewelry

lots of necklaces!

A lot is asked of Miami women. Look smashing in a bikini in the middle of January. Wear heels, even if you’re just making a Publix run. And appear exotic at all times (no, we don’t care that you’re a Midwest transplant).

Khrys Kelly, the creator of Embode Designs, wants to assist. Influenced by traditional jewelry worn in Africa and India, Kelly uses beads and pendants from as far away as Bali, Indonesia, and Morocco in her one-of-a-kind pieces, which she designs based on the energy of the materials she uses.

The native New Yorker has been in Miami only for the past three years, but she’s got our style down pat, with simple polished stone necklaces and earrings, shimmering pendants, and long strings of quartz. The jewelry is the latest addition to her established line of handmade scarves and wraps, which are also inspired by her world travels.

Which, we’re pretty sure, don’t include Sheboygan.

Available at Little Havana to Go, 1442 Southwest Eighth Street (305-857-9720); or by phone order (786-280-9665) or e-mail embode72@aol.com.
