The Bakeup

No Cake Like Home Custom Cakes

this takes the cake!

There’s bad frosted: Judith Light’s Who’s the Boss? hair, your lips that same year.

There’s good frosted: that vodka you keep in the freezer, the glass door to the bathroom you share with two other people.

And then there’s great frosted: like Allie Herrera’s custom cakes. The 24-year-old California transplant, who works at nonprofit organization Best Buddies during the day, uses recipes (with her own personal touches and modifications, of course) that have been in her family since she started baking more than a decade ago.

She’s currently got six flavors — chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, carrot, coconut, and tres leches — in two sizes: regular (eight inches) and munchkin (four inches), which are perfect whether you’re hosting a party or attending one where you know sugar and carbs will be greatly appreciated.

Just be sure to show up with the goods.

You wouldn’t want to be, you know, a frosted flake.
