Memories of Saturday afternoons in the mall. New jean shorts. Freshly crimped bangs. Ready to spend someone else’s hard-earned money on Guess jeans, a slice from Sbarro, and the most perfect summer beverage ever created.

That would be you, Orange Julius. We’ve been through a lot together, haven’t we? So many times, your cool frothiness — a perfect combination of orange juice and ice with just a hint of vanilla — was a comfort in times of need: back-to-school shopping woes, anxiety at the Piercing Pagoda, the day Contempo Casuals caught on fire.

Sure, there were those few months when a very lost, naive tween went on a Dairy Queen Blizzard kick. How must you have felt, to be pushed aside for bits of Butterfinger.

But it’s always been you, Orange Julius. Which is why this summer, you deserve to be remembered, to be tasted again in all your summer-perfect glory.
