Ms. Bo-dangles
Lynda Spring Necklaces

In honor of Papaw, you’re officially declaring bolo ties back in style (and the fez, but one trend at a time).
Once considered the exclusive province of grizzled old cowboys and Bob Dylan, the bolo is getting a much-deserved second wind. And face lift. Gone are the silver cow sculls and braided leather — and in their places, beads, jewels, and charms.
Leading the courageous campaign is local designer Lynda Spring. Simply twist or tie the two sides of her lariat-style necklaces together for the perfect feminine bolo (bolight, if you will). The rock star in you will love the skulls and black beads, and for summer, wrap around one of Spring’s sparkly pastel designs with tiny Buddhas on each end.
For those with sensitive skin, most of her pieces don’t contain any metal, and she creates each necklace by hand, which is somewhat of a rarity these days.
You know, times they are a-changin’.
Available at Crimson Carbon, 524 Washington Avenue, suite 101, Miami Beach (305-538-8262); by e-mail order (lyndaspring@yahoo.com).
