Buckle Up
Charlott Vasberg Handbags

You’ve never been one to bust out all the bells and whistles: Loud noises make you want to reach for the Valium, plus, a commitment to subtlety in Miami is way punk rock.
When it comes to your handbag, on the other hand, understated simply isn’t an option. You want zippers; you want buckles; you want straps that crisscross around your body like Rambo’s ammunition belt.
Charlott Vasberg has yet to tackle that last look, but you’ll be sure to find plenty of other bold design elements in her collection of handbags. Two chunky zippers and a copper clasp adorn the grand clutch, and the so-big-and-buttery-you-could-take-a-nap-in-it zip-top bag isn’t short on details either.
Other styles to look out for throughout the season: the Frame, which resembles an oversize, industrial change purse; and the slouchy, super-long Belt shopper that looks like it could stash a saxophone.
And still have room for that Valium.
Available at Barneys Co-Op, 832 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach (305-421-2010). To see styles, go to charlottvasberg.com.
