First Course Book Club Launches

Congratulations: Hooked on Phonics worked for you.

So why haven’t you read anything since that didn’t require you to take a pop quiz after each chapter?

Get back in the habit this month by signing up for First Course. The new book club series was created to attract the young and the reading restless (girls and boys) and show them that talking about a book doesn’t have to feel like school.

In fact, the only time you’ll have to raise your hand is for a refill on that glass of wine, which, in addition to appetizers, will be served during the meeting. The other twist: Every selection is one that’s recently been turned into a movie. For example, up first is Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer.

That’s: Crak-ow-er.
