The Bookstore in the Grove Opens

bookstore in the grove!

There are certain things every good neighborhood needs: the family-owned restaurant, the cafe that always knows your usual, and the convenience store that sells sixers to the high school kids.

Oh, and the corner bookstore. With the opening of The Bookstore in the Grove, Coconut Grove can now say they’ve got it all (minus the loose-moral Tom Thumb).

Residents Felice Dubin and Sandy Francis chose the corner of Grand Avenue and Virginia Street — right in the heart of the Grove’s shopping district — because they saw a need in the community for a book shop.

Not too big, not too small, TBITG has a little bit of everything: a children’s section decorated with stuffed animals and a cozy reading rug, a cafe stocked with carbs and caffeine, a lounge with plenty of cushioned seating, and, of course, books galore.

Pick up The Cookie Sutra for Secret Santa, Cormac McCarthy’s latest for the book club.

Finally, it’s all good in the hood.
