The Sex Pistols may have sung “God Save the Queen,” but we doubt Her Majesty invited them to afternoon tea after giving it a listen on the royal eight-track.
But music and manners do mingle at Sweat Records, now that the indie music shop offers tea service. Pore over new releases by Radiohead and Iron & Wine, then pour a cup of Numi organic tea. Just take a seat in the cafe and a glass teapot will be sent to your table.
As the hand-sewn rosette of white, green, black, or oolong tea leaves begins to steep, it blooms into a bright, beautiful flower. Kind of like a reverse Shrinky Dink, only with agua instead of an oven.
Leave the hipster ’tude at the door and get cozy.
And if you have to be a rebel?
Don’t raise your pinky.
