Image Is Everything

Johari Cards

You IM’d present play-by-play and sent so many Happy New Year texts you missed the countdown. It’s time for an intervention. No heartfelt letters, no 90-day vacation in Arizona. We know yours is a short attention span, so here’s your four-step program.

Step 1: Hand over the BlackBerry.
Step 2: Drop the stylus. Grab a Bic.
Step 3: Thank Erika Philip and Laurie Cook of Johari for their beautiful and stirring photographs from places like Africa and India, which they turn into cards (as well as enlarged, mounted prints).
Step 4: Write something.

You’ll feel good for sending something more personal than a smiley emoticon and also because Philip and Cook donate a portion of profits to the communities and people who served as models.

Because you’re not the only one who needs help.

Available at Rustic Treasures Coffee Cafe & Gift Shop, 3670 Grand Avenue, Coconut Grove (786-317-1468); online at joharicreations.com.
