The Freshmaker

Upper Eastside Green Market Opens

to market, to market!

To market, to market, in a hybrid rig.
The Upper Eastside Green Market at Legion Park, now open Saturdays from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. for the next ten weeks.

Home again, home again, what’s not to dig?
Between 25 and 30 independent vendors hawking their wares.

To market, to market, while walking the dog.
Yep, they’re welcome, too.

Home again, home again, jiggety jog.
Fresh air! Exercise! Community bonding!

To market, to market, to buy a plum bun.
Okay, those exist only in Olde English nursery poems.

But there’s seasonal local produce (citrus, avocados, peppers, heirloom tomatoes) and organic herbs and greens. As well as locally made honeys and jams, fresh-baked Italian breads, homemade mozzarella and ricotta, cookies, and flowers. Plus chef demos and brief horticulture workshops by master gardeners.

Home again, home again, market is done.
And thankfully, so is this rhyme.

Upper Eastside Green Market, Legion Park, Northeast 66th Street and Biscayne Boulevard (305-775-2166).
