What: The weekend-long block party is filled with sidewalk sales, wine tastings, a hula hoop showdown, a sock hop, mariachi bands, and a burger eating contest.

What: Local anti-indie band celebrates the release of Music for Modern Living, their new CD flush with ’80s riffs and ’90s angst.

Everything/Everyday: Lomographesque Photography
What: The exhibit of pseudo lo-fi photos kicks off with complimentary booze and door prizes.

A Very Happy Hour
What: The Raleigh launches a summer tradition of early evening cocktails on the cheap, along with a DJ and bite-size cuisine in the terrace garden.
Why: It’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

Friends Dinner and Silent Auction
What: Sip, snack, bid, and hobnob with SoBe’s elite at the super swank Gansevoort South.
Why: Proceeds benefit Miami Light Project and its bevy of young artists.

Fashion Unveiled
What: Runway shows, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, giveaways, and shopping at Aventura Mall.
Why: Ticket sales go to Children First Fund to support UM’s pediatric department.
