Sup o’ Noodles

Philippe Opens

Sometimes you wait for something and it never arrives. (Damn you, flying car.)

Other times, you’re about to give up and get a sweet surprise.

Case in point: Philippe, the much-anticipated eatery finally opening today in the Gansevoort South.

From the Peking duck to the spicy prawns, the upscale Chinese resto helmed by Philippe Chow lives up to the hype. Eschewing the nightly noodle show of its Manhattan sister, the Miami outpost makes a splash with an open kitchen theater (all the better to watch the masters hand-pull the signature noodles).

The whopping 400-seat indoor/outdoor space stays true to its minimalist vibe (shiny white walls offset by red lamps and black floors).

Want the DailyCandy inside scoop? It’s an actual scoop (or slice) of the baker’s special dessert. Mention our good name this week and it’s on the house.

How sweet it is.

Philippe, Gansevoort South, 2305 Collins Avenue (305-674-0250).
