Your last dinner party was a complete bust.
The president of your book club sat next to a Palin supporter, and one gal landed in the ER for smoke inhalation (that was one complicated soup recipe).
Make your next supper club a smash: Go out. AltaMar is hosting Pairings & Pours private dinner parties. For seven Mondays (starting next week), the resto will be closed to the public. Chef/owner Claudio Giordano will handpick a five-course meal for each occasion. This Monday’s lineup begins with Peruvian-style tiradito, weaves through homemade veal ravioli, and ends with hazelnut chocolate molten cake.
The pours, all highly rated, are unlimited (call a cab). This Monday’s well-vetted vino is from the Aussie label Penfolds.
Pairings & Pours welcomes up to 30 people (or go alone, loser) and costs $50 per person.
Way cheaper than those hospital bills.
Pairings & Pours, through November 17, Mondays, 8 p.m., at AltaMar, 1223 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach (305-532-3061 or altamarrestaurant.com). R.S.V.P. required.
