Get Thai-ed Up

Thai Luna Sol Cooking Classes

Peyote. Threesomes. Parading naked at Fantasy Fest.

Most of your exotic ambitions have fizzled out, but learning Thai cooking is still a hot prospect.

Pom and Enrique Cayeiro (Thai and Cuban-American, respectively) offer monthly cooking classes at their home and private classes by appointment chez vous.

Group classes (up to twelve participants) cover four dishes of Pom’s choosing (faves include pad Thai, spring rolls, and satay), as well as lesser-known specialties from her mother’s kitchen (say, koong tod kratiem). With private lessons, you can customize a menu, request dishes, or specify vegan/vegetarian.

Classes begin with an overview of ingredients, all of which Pom supplies and most of which have medicinal benefits (soup as cold medicine). After an interactive cooking session, it’s chow time. Three hours later, you leave with recipes and a shopping list obtainable at most supermarkets.

Sure to spice things up.
