Feather Head
Krystal Sasso’s Feather Headbands

The last time you feathered your hair was your bat mitzvah.
But your bangs couldn’t stay afloat when the Daddy Mac made you jump, jump.
For a modern take on the do, turn to Krystal Sasso. The local jewelry designer has just launched a collection of feather headbands. Inspired by a photo of her grandma in a feather hat (and pearls, natch), Sasso decided to update the ’20s adornment.
Made with embossed patent leather on a plastic comb grip, the headbands are unusually comfy. The feathers (peacock and ostrich) are imported from France and fastened to each piece by hand. The result is darling: an oversize plume that curves toward your tresses.
The color palette is vast: midnight blue, black, lime green, teal. Our favorite is the gold, emerald, and chocolate swirl pattern.
We still love a little Kriss Kross.
