The name’s English.
Todd English.
His famed restaurant Olives (from Boston with love) has been in not-so-secret service since 1989. Tomorrow he reveals his new Fort Lauderdale eatery, da Campo Osteria, to a private audience. (Quantum of solace: It opens to the public on Friday.)
There, the man with the golden gun (we mean huge, wood-burning copper oven) presents Tuscan cuisine under the direction of executive chef Seth High. Expect to be shaken and stirred by antipasti, oysters, flatbread pizzas, and homemade pasta.
But what will impress the living daylights out of you is the mozzarella service. A cart of fresh ingredients is wheeled to your table, where the curds are dunked in boiling water, pulled, and made into cheese while you watch. Choose from toppings like tomatoes, figs, prosciutto, tapenade, and spices.
It’s double-o-seventh heaven.
