LaLucca’s Art Bags

Miami is full of fun bags.

Seriously. LaLucca bags are really fun.

Local designer Laura Pimentel works in collaboration with Bulgarian painter Aleksandar Kirilov to create the collection of Art Bags, crafty clutches hand-painted with vibrant colors.

Kirilov starts with a piece of canvas or leather, then lets his creativity flow, often painting a single flower or heart against a backdrop of rich colors. The paint is then sealed with complex science stuff to ensure that neither cobalt blue nor cadmium yellow rub off on your dress. After that, the artsy fabric is constructed into a purse — usually a clutch, sometimes a shoulder bag.

The interiors all have hot pink lining and zipper pockets. Otherwise, the bags are one of a kind.

So they’ll never be two abreast.
