Everyone loves the idea of fixing a postcoital snack while wearing a boyfriend’s button-down.
But some of us are single — or lesbians.
Cut out the middle man with a dress from Art of Shade. Designer Kayce Armstrong restructures men’s shirts into one-of-a-kind frocks. The recycled collection comes in five styles, including the Johnny (a black and tan oxford print with a sweetheart neck and asymmetrical hem) and the Mario (a blue and white halter complete with collar and layered skirt).
The line is available at Armstrong’s new fashion laboratory, The Shade Post — part retail shop, part sewing room. You can buy a design off the rack or choose your fabric from an array of men’s shirts. Also on hand: couture gowns, layered bustiers, and bikinis made of clothing labels.
The pieces all have an edgy, vintage look.
Worth the shirt off his back.
