Appleton Estate Rum Cocktail Recipe

This month’s been full of parties. So far you’ve attended Jessie’s Moving Back to New York Bash; Alyssa’s Bon Voyage, Miami; and Scott’s New Job in L.A. Celebration.

Now it’s time for your own fete: a Screw the Deserters soiree, if you will. All you need is a condo pool (there are plenty of empties in Brickell), friends who are staying in town this weekend (good luck), and a cocktail to keep you cool.

The Royal Aperitif
Serves ten

Ingredients
10 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve rum
5 oz. honey syrup (boil honey in hot water)
5 oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Champagne
Lemon twists

1. Add rum, honey syrup, and lemon juice to a pitcher and shake.

2. Greet guests. Show them your fabulous apartment.

3. Pour mixture into a flute glass and top it off with champagne.

4. Garnish with a twist.

Low on guests? Drink until you see double.
