At 16, you were a captain of industry, charging friends a 10 percent finder’s fee for the beer your older brother bought.
Sixteen-year-old entrepreneur Becca Medvin took the sweeter route with her eponymous vegan cupcake company.
After giving up everything from steak to eggs, the teen found there wasn’t much dessert available — and what was tasted like nutty cardboard. So she took it upon herself to develop a tasty cupcake sans animal products.
The most popular flavors are the classics, chocolate and vanilla. But the carrot cake deserves a special nod, as does the chocolate chip cookie dough (which has a lil’ cookie baked right inside). While you might think cupcakes need loads of butter, Medvin swears her vegan variety has made “people cry from happiness.”
We’re sure you’ll want a piece of the action.
