Good to the Last Pop

It’s an age-old question, really: How does Barbie not topple over? A stick like that could never support those cupcakes.

Which is not to stay that cupcakes can never be supported. Just look at Popsy Cakes, the sweets that won Miami student Jessica Cervantes first place in a national competition.

The ubiquitous desserts ditch the standard wrapper for a wafer cookie stick (with or without hazelnut filling). The cake itself comes in chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet, and you can mix and match the flavors with chocolate or vanilla icing. Gravity doesn’t stand a chance against your appetite.

Of course, it can’t be easy for the 19-year-old to stay on top of things in both the classroom and the kitchen.

But hey, it’s all about the balance.
