Lone Planet: Gibraltar Edition
Getting there: The new restaurant is located inside the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove.
Government: Chef Jeff O’Neill served under culinary leaders Charlie Palmer, Daniel Boulud, and Eric Ripert; led the kitchen at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach; and was crowned Donald Trump’s family chef.
What to See: The outdoor patio and modern dining room (gray leather, dark wood, cork ceiling) offer scenic views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.
What to Do: Swim in the flavors of contemporary seafood, either in starter size (regional oysters with spiced pineapple mignonette, mussels in coconut-coriander broth) or main course portions (roasted yellowtail with buttery cabbage, Florida lobster in a sherry and mushroom broth). Explore the pan-roasted guinea hen with braised greens and golden raisin sauce. Or make memories with Jeff’s Key lime pie (seen on Oprah).
When to Go: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
