Miami Surf Archive Project Launches
What:
The newly formed organization dedicated to all things surf (preservation, presentation, and promotion) in Miami-Dade hosts a coming out party.
Why: Vintage footage and photos, a display of historical boards, live music, booze, and Jefe’s Original Fish Tacos & Burgers.
When: Thurs., 7 p.m.

Celebrity Chef Menus at the Sony Ericsson Open
What:
New York-based catering company Great Performances serves dishes from five local culinary pros to tennis tournament guests.
Why: Taste the creations of Norman Van Aken (Norman’s 180), Michelle Bernstein (Michy’s), Sam Gorenstein (BLT Steak), Hedy Goldsmith (Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink), and Kris Wessel (Red Light Little River). Plus new concession stands (Latin Express, Deli, Italiano).

Four Seasons Miami Earth Hour Dinner
What:
When the world goes dark at 8:30 p.m., the Brickell hotel’s Acqua restaurant will serve a three-course meal by candlelight.
Why: Organic and sustainable ingredients ($42 a person); a portion of the proceeds goes to the World Wildlife Fund; and guests go home with a free palm-based candle by Healing Hunny.

Miami Science Museum’s Big Bang After-Party
What:
Can’t afford a $500 ticket to the gala? (Neither can we.) Luckily, Miami Science Museum’s Young Patrons are throwing a lively (and affordable) after-party.
Why: The space-themed event will feature trippy lighting, live music by Latin funk band Xperimento, two DJs, an open bar, and a dessert station.
When: Sat., 10:30 p.m.

Pinkberry Opening Party
What:
You’ve heard about L.A. residents lining up around the block for a taste. Now the famous frozen yogurt brand dishes it out in South Florida.
Why: Free full-size samples, live music, and gift card giveaways at the inaugural celebration.
