Free Candy!

Free Altoids at Bond 07

Everyone loves Altoids.

But the tin? The way it clanks around in your pocket? (That’s just not a comfortable feeling.)

Well, following the lead of every other candy, cookie, cracker, and processed food you can think of, those tins of “curiously strong mints” have gotten curiously smaller…

And we found a spot where that’s doling them out for free.

The cinnamon and wintergreen Tiny Tins don’t technically hit the market until 2001 or 2002 (peppermint will be available in September), but for a limited time shoppers at Bond 07 get a free Tiny Tin with any purchase. The box of seventeen mints weighs less than half an ounce and is no more than 3 inches long — small enough to tuck inside the smallest of clutches or tightest of jean pockets.

And while seventeen mints may not last, the tins are also reusable (eco-friendly!).

They’re going fast, according to store manager Marc Himy, who says, scowling, “One customer took two tins.”
