If tea were like wine, you’d swirl it delicately before chugging not so delicately.

You’ll want to drain the pot, pinkie up, at Bellocq Tea Atelier, now open in Brooklyn.

Proprietors Heidi Stewart and Michael Shannon launched last year in London but quickly realized that a steaming passion for camellia sinensis doesn’t keep the landlord from calling. Naturally, they relocated to Greenpoint.

Stop by and relax in the old world-inspired shop/warehouse (reclaimed wood, aubergine walls) while you watch leaves unfurl. Browse specialty blends like White Wolf (white tea, cedar) and Gypsy Caravan (black tea, rose, poppy, chile); standbys like Earl Grey and a magical Ali Shan oolong (our favorite) round out the bins.

Tastings are Fridays, Saturdays, and by appointment. Come November 15, you can join Bellocq’s club for a year of new blends delivered monthly.

But just know that at $200-$600, membership is steep.
