Try as you might, your kids may prefer cookies to quinoa. But downtown moms will soon have a new ally in Operation Healthy Family.
Asphalt Green, a fitness-focused nonprofit that operates an enormous uptown sports complex, opens a second location in Battery Park City this winter. The new facility has two pools, an extensive fitness center, a full-size gymnasium, and a culinary center with classes and events geared toward teaching healthy eating habits.
Sign tots up for a range of classes, including swimming, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, and dance. Plus, for a limited time they’re offering discounted charter memberships. So you can take advantage of the members-only on-site babysitting while you hit the elliptical and steam room.
Run with it.
Asphalt Green Battery Park City, 212 North End Avenue, at Murray Street (212-298-2980 or asphaltgreenbpc.org).
