Some call your Seamless obsession lazy. We call it unavoidable.
At least until famed Brooklyn food store Foragers City Grocer expands to Chelsea today.
Expect a larger selection of ecofriendly foodstuffs, local produce, meticulously vetted meats and fish, plus chef Douglas Monsalud’s rotisserie-centric take-out meals (teasers for the shop’s restaurant, debuting mid-March) for the truly oven averse.
We understand old habits die hard and thus have created a checklist. Print it out; take it in; thank us later.
Groceries
__ Rare heirloom dried Mexican beans.
__ The city’s freshest goose eggs.
__ Ready-to-cook cider-brined pork chops butchered in-house.
__ Crepinettes made from lemon grass and ginger pork in caul fat.
Ready to Eat
__ Spanish tortilla with chorizo and chard (with cold-pressed juice) for breakfast.
__ Tuna conserva on baguette.
__ Ga ro ti rotisserie chicken with broken rice (soul food, Vietnamese style).
__ Smoked beef navel pastrami with Sixpoint beer mustard.
To Drink
__ Small-batch, artisanal wines and quirky varietals.
__ Craft-distilled spirits.
Seems less daunting, no?
