The average bottle of wine contains just more than 600 calories and three personal revelations.
Which would leave us feeling poor were it not for Uplift fitness studio, opening Sunday.
After a leading publication (fine, us) introduced trainer Leanne Shear in 2010, she teamed up with Helena Wolin and Katie Currie to create Rogue Female Fitness. Their outdoor workouts followed by drinks went gangbusters, and a permanent space was needed.
The ladies-only clubhouse blends shaping up and being social without teetering into Curves territory. Find a nook to finish emails before a workout (Wi-Fi is free), sweat, then stick around for a glass at the studio’s communal bar.
New classes include power vinyasa; lunchtime quickies for abs, legs, and arms; boot camp circuits; and plenty of cardio/resistance combos to tone and erase the night before. Sessions are kept small (twelve-fifteen people max) and trainers happy.
Bottoms (lifted) up.
