Été Swim Launches

Dare to bare

ete swim!

Some people think it takes a Brazilian backside to wear a Brazilian-cut bikini (that or multiple caipirinhas).

Get cheeky with Été Swim, a new line of bathing suits from NYC-based team Laura Poretzky-Garcia and Lily Dickerson Maddock.

Brought together by a mutual friend (Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo), both women are industry vets: Poretzky-Garcia founded RTW label Abaeté; Maddock, the knitwear brand LiDi.

Cover your essentials in a dainty gingham bow bandeau and low-rise bottoms or color-blocked string bikini with ruched edges (each proves Poretzky-Garcia, who grew up in Rio, understands the physics of showing serious skin). A peppermintesque one-piece and high-waisted black-and-blue combo prove more modest should misgivings linger.

Dive in, but know this: After the online trunk show ends June 8, you’ll have to wait until November for the line to hit stores.

Better hurry, because that’s a big but.

Available at modaoperandi.com, $230-$350.
