If you’re like us, the last thing you grilled was your best friend after an OkCupid date.
Get back in the kitchen with Sweet Roots NYC.
Frustrated by postwork grocery store options and inspired by a holiday spent eating veggies and herbs from her mother’s upstate garden, Marisa Claire Smith started the service to fill a void in the city’s home-cooking culture.
Unlike CSAs or inflexible meal delivery services, Sweet Roots tailors the three-, five-, or seven-meals-per-week plan to match clients’ tastes (spicy, vegan), needs (gluten free, kids), and cooking skills.
Each box comes with easy-to-follow recipes and all the prepped, farmers market-sourced ingredients you need to make dishes like rosemary trout, ricotta-filled burgers, and stuffed kale leaves with black pepper pole beans, nori, and sesame seeds.
Plans are affordable, and most dishes cook faster than a delivery man can bike over your pad thai.
You’re welcome for the hookup.
Available at sweetrootsnyc.com, $69-$149 per person per week.
