The Bowery Kitchen Opens
What: Below NYC’s swankiest hostel-style hotel, the mod, black-tiled restaurant is a little bit Italian and a little bit rock ’n’ roll. Order ravioli (formagella, mortadella, spinach, potato) and hazelnut brittle.
Why: Each table is a shadow box for works by big-name Italian artists, so you can soak up some culture along with your witching-hour prosecco and egg, prosciutto, avocado, and fontina sandwich.
When: Daily, 7 a.m.-2 a.m.
Where: 220 Bowery, b/t Prince & Spring Sts. (212-837-2370).
ABC Carpet & Home Outlet Sale
What: Go north, design fiend, for 75 percent off the mecca’s furniture, rugs, lighting, linens, accessories, and more.
Why: You’ve lusted after those window displays long enough.
When: Sat.-Sept. 9. Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: 1055 Bronx River Ave., at Watson Ave. (718-842-8772).
What: Get off the grid and wander winding streets for our favorite tiny restaurants, dimly lit bars, and expertly stocked boutiques between Sixth Avenue and the Hudson.
Why: Reward a day of exploring with our Deals for Left Bank restaurant and Imperial Woodpecker Sno-Balls.
When: Right angles aren’t cutting it.
Where: At dailycandy.com.
Public’s Summer Cocktails
What: The Nolita spot’s revamped beverage lineup is full of spirit (and fresh fruit). Try a rockmelon Collins made with local Dorothy Parker gin, lemon, cantaloupe, togarashi, and seltzer.
Why: A round or two of stealth margaritas (St-Germain, blanco tequila, lime, cucumber, chili tincture, cayenne salt) makes for a rowdy good time.
When: Mon.-Thurs., 6 p.m.-1 a.m.; Fri., 6 p.m.-2 a.m.; Sat., 10:30 a.m.-2 a.m.; Sun., 10:30 a.m.-1 a.m.
Where: 210 Elizabeth St., b/t Prince & Spring Sts. (212-343-7011).
What: Like a color-drenched cocoon, the Midtown spa helps you relax with inventive massages, reflexology treatments, zero gravity sleep therapy sessions, and more.
Why: In lieu of a traditional services menu, therapists tailor all treatments on the spot according to how you feel and how much time you have. Think of it as a surprise present you give yourself.
When: Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat., 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: 5 E. 57th St., at Fifth Ave., 12th flr. (212-245-8235).
What: Baked treats get a vegan and organic makeover, courtesy of Fernanda Capobiano (wife of pastry chef Francois Payard).
Why: One serving of the gluten- and cholesterol-free chocolate mousse tastes like cake frosting but has 42 calories. We’re sold.
When: Tues.-Fri., 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: 1437 First Ave., b/t E. 74th & 75th Sts. (646-499-4843).
