Traveling Muralist Zak Meers

Your walls can talk

zak meers!

The moment you began debating ecru vs. beige, you should have seen the writing on the wall: You’re surrounded by boring.

Replace the proverbial with actual rad lettering by roaming muralist and street artist Zak Meers.

Holding degrees in product design and visual communication, Meers has spent the past year turning forlorn walls into colorful canvases in Detroit and San Francisco. He’s known in creative circles for his new folk art and large-scale signage; we know him as the devastatingly charming and talented brother of a former longtime DailyCandy editor.

Past works include psychedelic toon-like swirls, color-block wording, faces, and animals. Though you can chat beforehand to make requests, we suggest handing over total creative license.

Murals take about five hours, cost $3 per square foot, and can be painted indoors or out. Word to the wise: Meers leaves town September 5.

Meaning you have only two weeks to break out of that eggshell.
