We love treasure. Especially when it’s of the golden variety (see: Olympic medals, retrievers, girls).
For a nugget all your own, turn to Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Nina Berenato.
The St. Louis-born former stylist and longtime collector of vintage baubles inherited a love of jewelry from her perpetually adorned grandmother. She now creates pieces by hand in a Greenpoint studio using skills she honed during a yearlong apprenticeship with fellow NYC jeweler Elizabeth Knight.
For her debut solo collection, Berenato looked to the stars and ancient Greek mythology. Start simple with triangular birthstone rings and stud earrings or go big with simple yet heavy golden pyramid and medallion pendant necklaces.
We dig a duo of wide, polished-metal cuffs with raised geometric shapes and channel-set emeralds. At the collection’s center: a tiered necklace of gold plates, each studded with a deconstructed map of the Leo constellation.
It just might cause a rush.
