Aska Opens in Williamsburg

Our new Swede dealer

What’s that? You want to know where all the cool kids are headed?

Just Aska, now open in Williamsburg.

From chef Fredrik Berselius (Frej) and Eamon Rockey (Atera, Eleven Madison Park), the lofty Scandinavian joint dishes six artistically constructed courses to no more than 60 guests per night.

We sampled smoked shrimp with rapeseed oil, cucumber glacé, and earthy dill; vinegar-poached skate, kale, and egg; and grilled squid with turnip sprouts, pureé, and fermented purslane. All were delish.

Reservations will be tough to impossible. Book now.

Or simply walk in tonight. The catch: Instead of a meal, you get Rockey’s sublime cocktails (the late-night effects of which we suggest you keep quiet) and associated hullabaloo (DJ, men in flannel, 4 a.m. close).

Warm up with hot Swedish Punsch or go strong with The Bond (gin, house-made vermouth inspired by pineau des Charentes, wildflowers). The citrus-kissed Passed Bright Milk punch (tequila, rum, orange, fennel and oolong tea) is pour genius.

No question.
