The Weekend Guide

the third man!

Here’s to the next two weeks of eating and drinking.

CHEERS
The Third Man
What:
Edi & the Wolf enthusiasts get a second helping of Eduard Frauneder and Wolfgang Ban with the Alphabet City bar named for the 1949 British noir film of the same title.
Why:
Wash down fluke ceviche and smoked speck with refreshing Warsaw Morning (bison grass-infused vodka, St-Germain, grapefruit) and hearty Pueblo Guillermo (whiskey, Cynar, Fernet Branca).
When:
Daily, 8 p.m.-4 a.m.
Where:
116 Ave. C, at 8th St.

The Black Hound
What: Settle into the Battery Park City cocktail den’s back room and drop SAT words as you sip on the Moveable Feast (rye whiskey, Luxardo, Amaro Montenegro) and Pygmalion (gin, Cointreau, Lillet, grapefruit juice, lavender syrup).
Why: Waxing poetic works up an appetite; sate it with a surf-and-turf burger and hefty helping of truffle mac ’n’ cheese.
When: Sun.-Thurs., 4 p.m.-midnight; Fri. & Sat., 4 p.m.-2 a.m.
Where: 301 S. End Ave., at Albany St. (212-945-0562).

ROCK OUT
Make Music Winter
What:
The summer event bundles up for a chilly weather rendition with mini parades and concerts in all five boroughs for a decidedly New York take on caroling.
Why: Grab a flashlight and sing your way through Central Park, hop on the front car of the G for the string stylings of Bach, or drum your hands with fellow percussionists on the cast-iron buildings of Soho.
When: Fri.
Where: Locations and schedule at makemusicny.org.

MAN UP
Barber & Supply
What: Treat your top dude to a service at the newly opened retro grooming spot, an outpost of old-school brand F.S.C. Barber.
Why: The hangover treatment (eucalyptus-scented hot towels, ace mask, lavender oil) compensates for one too many eggnogs, while a straight razor shave will make him feel like Don Draper.
When: Mon.-Fri., noon-8 p.m.; Sat. & Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (walk-ins only).
Where: 101 N. 8th St., b/t Berry St. & Wythe Ave., Williamsburg (718-522-4959).

GIFT
Runa

What: The tea company sets up shop with brews, as well as bright, graphic, and geometric textiles made by Shipibo communities in the Peruvian Amazon.
Why: Go for the whole shebang with a custom gift set of red river clay bowls, wild honey, and teas.
When: Today-Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Columbus Circle Holiday Market, Central Park W., at 59th St.
