What: Aamanns-Copenhagen
Why: Go Danish with a three-course prix fixe dinner ($85) followed by a boozy party.

What: Ars Nova’s Bootlegger’s Ball
Why: A bilevel Prohibition-inspired fete with burlesque and circus acts, live music, and general debauchery. Secret password (required for entry) provided upon ticket purchase.

What: Aska
Why: A seven-course Nordic tasting menu followed by a blowout with a DJ, Eamon Rockey’s cocktails, and bubbly.

Why: The LES spot will be as crazy as you expect. If that’s your thing, sign up now for an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, favors, and a DJ-fueled dance party.

What: Freemans
Why: Tables, out. Dance floor and DJ, in. Oysters, caviar, cheese fries, burgers, and a sundae bar are on hand in case you work up an appetite.

What: The Library at The Public
Why: A cocktail party set to a performance by Julian Velard, with nibbles and an open bar (wo)manned by resident mixologist Tiffany Short.

What: Reynards
Why: A prix fixe ($95) with raw shellfish bar, caviar, scallops, beef carpaccio; Maine lobster or steak; and chocolate stout or lemon pudding cake.

What: Rosemary’s
Why: Two preparty dinners of family-style antipasti and pasta (shrimp sanguinosi, house-made mozzarella, fettuccine alla grezza with caviar) and mains (scallops alla plancha, lamb chops).
When: Dinner, 5-8 & 8-10 p.m.

What: The Stand
Why: Send 2012 off with laughs, courtesy of Judah Friedlander, Todd Barry, and Yannis Pappas. We’d go for the $135 package, which includes a show, four-hour open bar, snacks, and midnight toast.
When: Shows, 8 & 10 p.m.; full package, 8 p.m.-midnight.

What: Swine
Why: Five-course dinner ($90) followed by a rock/hair metal party ($85). Glam ’70s and ’80s costumes are strongly encouraged. Hairspray not provided, though a DJ spinning vinyl, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a buffet are all included.

Why: If you go the club route, be sure to pick one with a view. For a good look at the city and good-looking party guests, hit the Dream Downtown’s elevated cocktail lounge.

What: Prospect
Why: Three chances to tuck into a five-course feast ($110, $175 with wine) of nitro foie balls or bay scallops, poached lobster, sirloin with truffles, and three chocolate desserts.
