Sure, all you need is love. But food is pretty darn important, too.
This Valentine’s Day, thanks to a program created by California-based designer and philanthropist Olivia Lin, you can give both. Make a $5 donation to her organization, The Yummy Year Project, and Lin will hand print a graphic V-day card of her own design (you choose from three motifs and three ink colors), add a handwritten message, and send it in a hand-addressed envelope to your lucky loved one.
Next, she’ll pass along every penny of the proceeds to the Ebongalethu Educare Center in Motherwell, South Africa, where your donation will cover a day’s worth of nutritious meals for 60 needy children.
Lin’s goal is to send 365 cards, and feed the kids for an entire year. Don’t let her down.
Available at yyproject.org, $5. Orders must be placed by February 3rd to ensure delivery by February 14th.
